+ CORPUS CHRISTI CENTENNIAL PREPARATION +
Corpus Christi Parish will celebrate its 100th anniversary beginning October 22, 2006. The year before will be a time of preparation and prayer in the parish. As a communal expression of these intentions, each one of us is asked to perform some spiritual practice every Friday during this preparatory year. Every Friday, we will all be united in our efforts. Some possibilities suggested below are traditional, or you may wish to choose something that did not occur to us. Please check at least one and return the bottom of this sheet to the church. The box containing the commitment sheets is near the tabernacle, and your commitment sheet can be placed there.

_____ I shall abstain from meat and/or reduce my quantity of food each Friday as an act of solidarity with the poor members of the Body of Christ who have little or no food each day.
_____ I shall make a visit to a Catholic church each Friday and pray in honor of Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament, the sacred mystery for which our parish is named. (Corpus Christi Church will try to be open every Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 12:45 p.m., but many churches are open longer hours.)
_____ I shall pray the Rosary each Friday, meditating on the sorrowful mysteries of Jesus’ suffering and death.
_____ I shall pray one or more of the Psalms each Friday, remembering that from the earliest Christians until the present day, the Psalms have been a central part of the daily prayer of the Church.
_____ I shall ___________________________________________________. (Add some practice that would be most meaningful for you.)
First name only ____________________________
Or sign as a family _____________________________________________________
