Rev. Daniel P. O'Reilly, Pastor

Rev. Daniel O’Reilly is pastor of Corpus Christi parish.  Since he is also Catholic chaplain at Columbia University, Corpus Christi is once again Columbia’s university parish. Fr. O’Reilly was born in Manhattan and raised in the Bronx. He attended Regis High School in New York City and majored in philosophy at Princeton University before entering the seminary for the Archdiocese of New York. After earning Master’s degrees in theology and divinity from St. Joseph’s Seminary in Yonkers, he was ordained a priest in 2003 and appointed parochial vicar at Resurrection Church in Rye, New York. He has served as Director of Campus Ministry for the Archdiocese of New York, Spiritual Director for the St. John Neumann Seminary College in Yonkers, and Catholic Campus Minister at SUNY Maritime College in the Bronx.

Rev. Raymond M. Rafferty, pastor emeritus

Rev. Raymond M. Rafferty was pastor of Corpus Christi Church from 1998 to 2013.   Since his ordination at St. Joseph’s Seminary in 1966, Father Rafferty has served as assistant and pastor in several NYC churches and as director of New York University’s Catholic Center.  He has even served as pastor for the English-speaking Church of Our Savior in The Hague, Netherlands.

Along the way, he was the youngest president of the Senate of Priests of the New York Archdiocese and the President of the New City Library. He is deeply involved in community affairs, particularly as an active member of the Board of Directors of Community Impact at Columbia University and of the Morningside Area Alliance, and can often be found at the educational, cultural, and religious institutions of Morningside Heights. Corpus Christi’s Young Adult Group and the Lenten Sunday Vespers program are just two of the additions he has made to the Church’s array of services.

Besides ministering, he enjoys visits to his beloved Metropolitan Opera, Metropolitan Museum of Art, and Frick Collection.

Rev. Jayaraj Putti, J.C.L.

Rev. Jayaraj Putti (Father Raj) is in residence at Corpus Christi Rectory since Jan 2018. Father Raj is a Canon Lawyer and currently works in the Metropolitan Tribunal of the archdiocese of New York. He was ordained a priest on May, 6th 1992 in India. He belongs to the catholic diocese of Bellary, Karnataka in South India. He worked for many years as a Pastor, Director in a boarding home and Principal in a big school with 2200 students before arriving in the archdiocese of New York. Besides earning his Philosophy and Theology degrees, he also earned a master’s degree in Sociology from the Osmania university, Hyderabad in India and Licentiate in Canon Law from the Pontifical Urbaniana University, Rome. He was visiting the Catholic university of America, Washington D.C., since 2010 for his thesis work. He worked in various capacities in his native diocese as a Dean for 10 years, secretary for priest’s personal board, senate member and a member in the Canon law society of India.

Apart from reading, he has a passion for travel, music, games and nature.
